FAQ About Septic Tank & Septic System Installation Newport Beach

  • What is the process of septic system installation?

Designing and installing the proper septic system for your needs is a complex process. We can break it down for you as simply as possible with the following steps:

    1. Excavation of the soil and site of the proposed septic system. This step is important because we'll need to make sure that the soil is in accordance with the minimum regulation requirements
    2. You get Irvine Septic System Services to design the perfect septic system for your property. We'll take into consideration a number of factors including the number of people living/working on the property, the location of the septic site, and the type of septic system that is needed.
    3. Installation. This is the fun part! We'll install the system that we designed, and you'll be off to the races.
  • What is the cost of a septic system installation?

If you trust us with designing and installing your septic system, handling this entire process from start to finish, it will likely cost somewhere between $5,000 and $20,000. We know that that's a very broad generalization, but we are unable to give more specific information before discussing the plans and design of the system.

  • How long does a septic tank usually last?

If you stick with Irvine Septic System Services to help you care for your septic tank, your system can last for decades!

Generally speaking, though, a septic tank that has been installed properly from the beginning and properly maintained with regular septic tank pumping services and any other necessary repairs can last up to 40 years. On the flip side, we've seen homeowners who have had to replace their septic tanks after just 15 short years because they were not diligent about their pumping and maintenance program. Maintenance is key to helping your septic system live a long and healthy life!

  • Is it bad to take long showers when you have a septic tank?

There are few things that feel better in life than a long, hot shower after a stressful day on the job. And if you're running on septic, it's okay ot have those every now and then. But unfortunately, you won't be able to make that a habit. Excessive daily water use will cause problems. And this water use might be for things you don't even think of. For example, doing small, frequent loads of laundry instead of a few large ones every week can overload your septic system with too much water. It's better for your septic tank to have a low and steady flow of water rather than random floods of water gushing through it. This is because large amounts of water can flush the bacteria utilized by the septic system to break down solids into the drain field, which undermines the entire process of a septic system.

Septic System Design & Installation Newport Beach

Designing and installing a septic system is as about as close as we'll ever get to artistry in the septic business. You can call us the Van Gogh's of septic systems.

The first thing we have to do is design the septic system. That involves our septic experts coming up with a plan or design that we can submit to the local health officials for the city of Newport Beach. The local health office has to sign off on any septic proposals for the area. Included will be a layout of the drain field, the size of the trenches and the size of the septic tank itself.

The local health officials will approve or deny these plans. Denial rarely occurs because there is a problem with the proposed design, but maybe because there are other concerns that the health department has about the site. If the plan is approved, they will issue permits, and the construction and installation of the septic system can start!

The septic design from the "blueprints" will be brought to life. We will lay out the components of the system accordingly, so that we'll know exactly what position each piece will need to be put in upon assembly.

The site will then be excavated to the appropriate depth for the septic tank and the pipes. This is a very important step, because septic systems van fail down the line if the elevation or depth is incorrect. This is because septic systems work on hydraulics, and it's easy to work against hydraulics and cause parts to fail if the system is in the wrong place in the ground. Once the excavation is completed, we'll call out the health inspector to conduct a final inspection of the site before testing and backfilling the area and burying the system.

After the inspector comes out, the testing phase begins. We'll conduct all of the water, pressure, vacuum and leak testing. You can think of this as a troubleshooting process. If we find any issues, they can be corrected before the system is buried. We take this step very seriously, as it is our last chance to make sure that all components are placed properly and the system is functioning perfectly.

Finally, the backfilling process takes place, and we'll try to make the area look as good as new. The city of Newport Beach is such a beautiful place, so we don't want this zone to be an eyesore if it doesn't have to. But, of course, sometimes this is unavoidable. But grass will grow back in this area before you know it!
