The Importance of Clarifier Tank Service & Maintenance

Let's talk about septic systems for a moment.

Septic systems handle human waste, toilet paper, and water from toilets, bathtubs and other plumbing fixtures. In a perfect world, those would be the only things that end up within a septic tank.

But we do not live in this world.

You see, these septic systems rely on a special mix of bacteria within the tank that help to break down solid waste. But all sorts of foreign objects (Legos, rubber ducks, jewelry) end up where they shouldn't be all the time, causing blockages.

For this reason, regular septic pumping and maintenance needs to be performed on a regular basis to keep things "flowing," so to speak.

Our professional septic tank technicians will successfully diagnose any issues that could be affecting your system for the worse. Sometimes the maintenance doesn't need to be performed for a little while, but often times the day has come for your septic tank to be pumped.

We also offer septic system repair and replacement services, as well as septic installations.

Believe us when we say that we are your full-service septic professionals, ready and waiting to take care of any and all of your needs.

Septic tanks are prone to getting clogged and overflowing without regular septic tank pumping maintenance. Trust us, this is NOT something you want to happen! To prolong the lifespan of your septic tank, it should be pumped every 1-3 years, depending on the number of people living on the property.

There are a number of things that can cause a septic system to fail. In areas where there is building, paving, or excessive driving over a septic system, the pipes or the tank can be damaged from occasional or repeated abuse. In other cases, maybe the septic system was poorly designed or installed, which can cause failure or contamination of nearby water sources. And then there's the one we're all familiar with: foreign objects or chemicals being flushed down pipes and drains. In any of these cases, septic tank repairs may be necessary to keep your system running smoothly.

If you need a septic tank installed, it is imperative to seek the help of a skilled, professional septic system service. They will be able to help you determine the type of system that will work best for your residential or commercial property. If we're talking new construction, the complexity of the project will depend on a number of factors.
If there is an older system installed that is beginning to fail, replacement of some or all components of the existing system may be required. We make these determinations and subsequent estimates on a case-by-case basis.

We offer our septic tank inspection services to all of our neighbors in the county. We're talking homeowners, realtors, and escrow companies alike. As licensed and insured service providers, you can be confident that we will perform a comprehensive inspection of any septic system. FAQ About Septic Tank & Septic System Repair Services in Irvine

  • Why is regular septic pumping important?

Over time and with regular use, sludge will gather at the bottom of a septic tank. A tank that is properly designed will be able to handle two to three years of safe accumulation of this sludge. However, once it rises above a certain point, sewage will have less time to settle properly before leaving the tank, which causes a number of problems. To prevent them, the tank must be pumped out at least every two years.

  • How will I know if my septic system isn't functioning properly?

There are a few telltale signs. And if your system is showing any of them, it's time to have a professional check it out:

    1. System backups

    2. Toilets and sinks draining slowly

    3. Foul odors inside or outside of the building

    4. Pump station alarm going off

    5. Water surfacing on the ground

    6. Gurgling sounds coming from the downstairs plumbing/toilets or laundry tub not draining properly

  • Where is my septic tank located?

Septic tanks are typically buried near your house and connected by a sewer pipe to your indoor plumbing. Look for an access lid that is visible at or just above ground level. If it's an older septic tank, sometimes you can find those by looking for an area of the yard that looks different from the rest. Maybe it grows faster or greener, or it could even be an area with less growth. If there are no obvious signs, you can contact your local health department who may have a permit on record, which often includes a diagram showing the specific location of the system.

  • I just had my septic system pumped. Why is it already full?

The purpose of a septic system pumping service is to remove any sewage buildup that would eventually lead to system failure. The water level in the septic tank will return to normal soon after being pumped, so don't be alarmed if you see water in the tank. However, you'll want that water level to be at or below the bottom of your outlet line. If this is not the case, that means there is likely an issue with the septic system. If you're encountering this issue, please call us at your earliest convenience.

  • Should I be using chemicals to protect my septic system?

People will try to sell you all sorts of stuff, but the reality is, there is no chemical out there that will enhance or protect your septic system, or eliminate the need for regular service and maintenance.

  • Is it worth it to upgrade my septic system?

If you have an older septic system, we would be happy to perform an inspection to see if replacement of parts or the entire system would benefit you in any way. There are definitely some unique advantages to having a newer system. The use of PVC lines and other modern plumbing techniques have greatly reduced the risk of system backups if they are properly maintained. But we have seen some older systems that are so well-maintained that there is simply no need to upgrade anytime soon.

Protect What Matters Most

We are passionate about septic system maintenance and repair because it helps families protect what's really important in life.

The septic system is one of the most crucial, yet overlooked systems of a property. All water that exists in a home goes through the septic system.  Periodic maintenance helps to maintain a healthy, functioning septic tank for years.

But a lack of proper maintenance can lead to a whole host of problems. Gases from a septic tank can be dangerous. Groundwater can be contaminated, which has extremely negative effects on nearby flora, faunt, and bodies of water. This leads to pollution of local lakes and streams, as well as making drinking water dangerous for humans.

When you care for the health of your septic system, you are also taking care of your loved ones, your neighbors and community.

We all make decisions day in and day out for the benefit of our families. And as you're trying to make a decision about which septic service company to partner with, just know that we'd be honored to use our decades of skills and experience to help you take care of yours.
